LA FOP  Local Lodges - Nearly 6,000 Members & Growing

The Louisiana State FOP Lodge is comprised of 38 Local Lodges statewide, with nearly 6,,000 members active and retired law enforcement. Over the last four years, as the State Lodge has gained a stronger foot-hold in Louisiana's law enforcement scene, more Local Lodges have successfully established charters.

The Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police's membership is growing daily. More and more law enforcement officers across the state are recognizing the LA FOP's strength in legislative matters, interest in the well-being and safety of officers, and commitment to improving our profession.

Benefits of Becoming a Member

With a united voice of over 5,000 members statewide and 318,000 members across the nation, the Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest law enforcement organization dedicated to improving our profession and communities.

Members receive the Grand Lodge FOP Journal and highly-touted Louisiana FOP Journal; support of law enforcement-related issues on Capitol Hill and in Baton Rouge; a number of seminars and workshops designed to benefit officers; scholarships; life insurance, accidental death insurance and line of duty death coverage; and affordable legal coverage.

At the State Level:

  • Legislative Committee: Members are made aware of issues under consideration by the State Legislature.
  • Scholarship Fund: The State Lodge offers 30 college scholarships, one per Local Lodge. Eligibility for a scholarship is open to active members and their dependents.
  • Benefits Committee: The State Lodge offers a wide range of benefits, including up to $6,000 in life insurance coverage to each member.
  • Louisiana FOP Journal: The State Lodge's highly-touted quarterly publication chock full of articles, events and legal updates for law enforcement officers.
